A club for every ambition

RUNNING NEEDS U

The word is missing its U. So is the sport.

U Run Club is for every runner with an ambition: first 5K, first marathon, sub-3, or just out the door 4 days a week. You define the goal. The club is where you exercise it.

Free. Every ambition welcome. Bring yours.

How it works

4 touchpoints · Your goals · My data

Mon

The Number, every Monday.

Every week I publish my mileage block so that you can define your goals on your own terms. Mileage, run count, long run, everything. You don't have to run my week exactly. Pick the percentage that works for you, 20, 30, 40, or 60, and run yours.

Wed

The club workout, every Wednesday.

1 session, written by me, broken up through 4 tiers. Workouts will be specced for a combination of strength, speed, and VO2 improvement!

Sep-Oct

Run the Build.

An open invitation, September to Chicago. Everyone in the club builds towards something this fall. Mine is Oct 11 in Grant Park. Yours might be NYC, a turkey trot, or a streak you've never held before. Same weeks, your volume, different finish lines.

Oct 5-11

The race week drop.

Founding members get my race-morning checklist and fueling card during Chicago week, Oct 5-11. Written for my race. Generalized to work for yours.

Why U run?

The consistency behind the number

In 10+ years of running I have never taken more than 1 week off. Through college seasons, 125-mile build weeks, and everything since Boston, I've learned how to hold high volume and high performance while keeping my body and mind healthy the whole way. That balance has carried me to top 10 finishes at the Marathon Majors and 2 marathons under 2:09.

That consistency is what's kept me in love with the sport and I want to share it with as many people as possible! My training data isn't a set target. It's a constant to measure your own week against, at your percentage, toward your goals.

We can't spell running without U!

Pick the tier at or below your current weekly volume. The challenge is consistency against a moving number, not a volume jump. Not medical advice. You know your body and your goal; I only know my mileage.
